What are some staples in your pantry or fridge?
In my fridge, there's always cheese, yogurt and grapes; in the pantry, I've got pasta, puffs, dry cereal, and raisins. What are some 'must keep in stock' items in your house? Those items, like eggs, that come in handy particularly when you can't think of what to make for dinner would be helpful too. Thanks!

I like your list already! I would add a couple of comfort foods, for those "just in case" moments.
- Apple sauce
- Bread (simple sliced wheat or something similar)
- Crackers of some sort
- Fruit! (does this count as 'pantry'?) Especially bananas, for when they're feeling really picky.
- Frozen Ravioli
- Frozen veggies (peas, corn, carrots for the kids)
- Rice (white Jasmine, or even some of those flavored rice boxes, Zatarain's, etc.
- Cous Cous
- Canned beans. Again, another good quick snack or meal. Ours like black beans, but try black, white, pinto, etc.
- Pita & Hummous
- Nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, etc.)

I like your list, and Steve's too. But I would put cous cous higher up on that list. only takes 5 minutes to "cook" where you don't have to even cook! Also try "Israeli cous cous" for variety. That is available at Trader Joe's and bulk at Whole Foods.
Also on my list is peanut butter. good on bread, crackers, apples, pancakes, celery, etc. For those allergic to nuts, try sunflower seed butter.

Ramen style Noodles -- good with added veggies, tofu, or meat
canned chili --- horrors! BPA exposure
canned tuna, salmon or chicken-- add to salad or add to pasta -- more BPA !
frozen mashed potatoes
frozen meatballs -- or meatless " meat" balls
frozen quiche

Great suggestions! I've added those to the list and made Cous Cous it's own bullet point. Also added Hummous & Pita.
