Cloth Diapering, is it worth it?

If you cloth diaper, is it worth it? In what ways? Cost, convenience, health, etc. In what ways has it been difficult?

If you don't cloth diaper, why not? Intimidating? Convenience? Lack of info, etc.

Wanted to and gave it a try using a basic set of cloth diapers.  Unfortunately, our daughter still had giardia from her native Ethiopia.  I do NOT recommend trying to use cloth diapers if your child has frequent and very loose bowel movements.  I couldn't go a single change without also having to change the cover.  Some systems account for that, but not the system we had.  On a positive note, if you try it and don't like it, you have tons of very absorbent cloths that are useful during toilet training, picking up spills, cleaning up after pets, etc.
