What was the best thing you or your family did this summer?

Any suggestions for the rest of us?!

Our best thing was probably family camp near Yosemite - tent cabins with beautiful surrounds, creeks, lakes, hiking, activities or not, good friends, friendly strangers, and a cafeteria that took all the meal prep and clean up off our hands - that was probably our best thing.

Also fun and memorable - we joined some friends on several "adventure tuesdays" through the summer where we went places we'd never been, and took risks on activities that were "too far" or "too old" for our family, and had a blast every time.

(Any suggestions for what not to do? ;)

Camping and hiking in Mount Lassen Park, which is

    a) beautiful

    b) 1/5 as crowded as Yosemite (which is my favorite, go-to park)

Also fun (for the boys) was Camp Jefunira, which is the BEST camp in Palo Alto (and we've tried 8 so far).  2nd best is Hidden Villa.

    Maui :)

But, more affordably, cabin camping in Big Basin was great fun.
