How do you research preschools?

0 votes

Are there any good websites out there (besides this one, of course!) for helping parents figure out what their local preschool options are? Right now we're relying on what our friends and neighbors suggest. We live in Portland, Ore., and it seems like there are many city-focused websites cluttered with chat boards and threads, but not much that's national or preschool focused. Then again, I don't have much time to troll the Web for this kind of thing. Suggestions?

I've been looking around online but have not fond anything I've really liked...  Been going back to the old-fashioned approach of asking people in the area whose opinions I trust....  Down here, one of our local parents groups puts on a preschool fair with a speaker -- I attended that last year, and it provided a nice overview of the different approaches and what to think about about.  It was a nice background, but I'm still relying on word of mouth, unfortunately.

I live in Santa Maria, CA so this might not apply but I have been using the website: www.childcareselect.com

They are nation wide and focused on child care centers and preschools. It has been a great resource for me! Good luck,
