Fitting 3 car seats in a midsize sedan

What are the narrowest, safest, most inexpensive car seats and/or booster seats available? We've got 2 2-year-olds and one 4-year-old looking to share a backseat in a mid-size sedan.

I'm thinking the 4-year-old is just big enough for a booster seat, possibly a backless booster seat, and maybe that could solve our overlapping armest / doors won't close issues. Any reason not to go with a booster? IIHS 2010 Recommendations seems to indicate they're safe enough.

Currently looking at the Graco TurboBooster (which conveniently has a great price ~$25, and gets good recs on Amazon, and good reviews in Consumer Reports, but the backless version is only listed in the mid-range - good for only some kids, some cars - on the IIHS list) or this Harmony or Evenflo one which both got better ratings in the IIHS list. Anyone know which is the narrowest at armrest height?

For what it's worth, we tried just getting a backless Graco Turbo Booster, and found that it just barely fit with our 2 existing car seats. For ease of use and peace of mind, we went ahead and ordered two Sunshine Radian 65 seats - the narrowest carseats we could find. Now the 3 seats fit so well that we wonder why we didn't just order these from the beginning (and why all the other carseats are so d*** wide).
