Where to get discounted tickets to Disneyland?

It's super pricey! Any suggestions? And any other best tips for disneyland / disney world vacations? We're heading to Disneyland next month with 4 adults and kids who are ages 2, 4, 10 & 11. And possibly one grandma :)

If you don't need Disney and just want a fun family theme park, I suggest looking at Knott's Berry Farm. It's about 10 minutes from Disney. It features the Peanuts gang instead of Disney characters, and has a much larger play area for the younger kiddies in "Camp Snoopy" over Disney's. But also has the larger roller coasters for adults, a train, stagecoaches, etc. It's about 1/3 of the price and regularly has online discounts, AAA discount (30%), and easier to find discount tickets through typical discount ticket vendors. I grew up in the area and back then, it felt 2nd rate compared to Disney, but not anymore. It's gotten much bigger while still having some of those original "Farm" elements (in the name).

As for actual Disney discounts, they are hard to find. Sometimes they run promotions for S.CA residents (zip code on your DL). So if anyone in your group is local, you can look into that. Good luck.

AAA will get you *something* at least.

Some folks on the TiVoCommunity forum (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=460962) recommend http://www.disboards.com/ and there seem to be some good posts there.

    Good luck and have fun!
