Where can you find solid-wood, American-made furniture?
We bought our son's dresser and bookcase at Hoot Judkins in Redwood City and really like them. They're solid wood and American-made. We'd like to get similar for our daughter but think that it would be nice to get her something a little more feminine rather than an exact copy of what we have in her brother's room.
Where have people shopped for solid wood, American-made furniture?
Thanks!
PS Anyone think that getting the exact same furniture is a bad idea?

We bought our bed, and our daughter's, from a Happy Planet in the Outer Sunset. The brand is Pacific Rim Woodworking and they have a list of CA distributors on their site: http://www.pacificrimwoodworking.com
I think the stuff is made in Oregon. We're very happy with it but it took forever to arrive--we were told six weeks and it was at least ten.

We're fans of Hoot Judkins, and also Room & Board in San Francisco. Their furniture is beautiful and well-made, but sometimes seems a bit above our price range for "kids furniture". So, now, we're thinking about a bunk bed (that we know they won't be using FOREVER), and so we might just go with Ikea.

We shopped Land of Nod for our crib. Pricey, but they had what we were looking for.

Just curious: What's wrong with Danish-made furniture?
