For a small pill: put it deep in a spoonful of yoghurt. Ask your kid to eat in one big gulp.

What kind of medicine are you trying to give? We're actually almost having a kids-love-medicine too much problem - the vitamins and antibiotics are all so candy-like (so far) that our kids are always asking for medicine!
(Alana, I got your note about something buggy on the site with posting question body / comments, thank you! Using this reply to test.)

How old is your child and what type of medicine? A very horrible answer if it's liquid antibiotics and a young infant - and when you've tried everything else and it has all failed - is to tip your child's head back and close her nose while you spoon or inject the medicine as far back in her mouth as possible. Like I said, sounds horrific :-) But I wasn't the one who came up with it. Blame both grandmas when I had already exhausted every trick in the book!
Good luck!

Applesauce also works great with pills. Some medicines come in chewable format.
