How to teach assertiveness?

How do you teach a young child how to break into play groups, how to persist and try again, how to get kids to stop when they're doing things he doesn't like (more than just saying "stop", actually getting results), how to have confidence in all these things?

    by having a talk before bed about his positive action throughout the day.simply emphasize what the kid did right and the results he/she obtained.
