What are the best sites you've found for parents?

0 votes

A friend told us as we were gathering input for this site that there's no lack of parenting information and websites out there, it's finding the good ones that's incredibly hard.

So, how about sharing favorite sites, or favorite posts, or favorite experts here? What have you gone back to? What do you remember fondly? Why was it so good?

I still frequently refer back to Berkeley Parents Network , although it isn't necessarily recent and it's certainly not flashy.

Yeah, this is a really good site. I should have mentioned it as well. It comes up frequently on Google searches for parenting advice, although I find the information somewhat out of date many times.

    Parents Guild, of course!

In all seriousness, as a Dad, I haven't found a lot of good parenting sites. There are a few "daddy blogs" that I read, but most of these don't actually focus on the act of parenting, and spend a lot of their time talking about products and events.

My favorite is not a site, but is a series of chapters emailed in a monthly newsletter timed to your kid's date of birth. It's awesome - written by level-headed, well-informed developmental psychologists - and almost always describes some behavior that just appeared that week or is just around the corner.

It makes the kids daily activities of growing up seem entirely wondrous.

You can see it here - Growing Child - and request a FREE one-time newsletter timed for the age of your child right now.

Although it has the word "mother" in the title (and I'm a "father"), I still really like The Motherlode Blog on the NY Times website.
