How do I keep from infecting my kids with the flu?
It's flu season, and both my wife and I are likely infected. We're not sure if it's H1N1 (swine flu) or not, but as far as we can tell, our two children (aged 5 months and 2.5 years) are not yet infected. Neither child has been vaccinated for either seasonal flu or H1N1 (yet). Our 5mo old is too young for the H1N1 vaccine, and we're planning to vaccinate everyone else as soon as the H1N1 becomes more widely available.
Additionally, my wife is still breastfeeding our 5mo old. Should she continue to breastfeed, or could there be a higher risk of infection?
We've already stepped up the hand washing, but we're interested in additional measures we can take to keep from infecting our kids.
Should we have the "wellest" parent focus on both kids?
Should we keep the kids separated from each other during mealtime and playtime?
