What to do with the plethora of toys?!?
What is the best way to recycle or donate toys? Our kids have sooo many and they're taking over the house. As newer toys are gifted to them, I'd like to cycle out the older ones. But I just don't know what to do with them. Besides Goodwill, are there specific places to donate used toys? I could always attempt to hold a garage sale - but that's too much work.

HOPE is an organization that helps disabled people. They usually have trucks parked in Safeway or Lucky parking lots from 11-7. They are always grateful for whatever we bring them - clothes, toys, books, etc.
Jewish Family Services helps when families immigrate to the US. CityTeam Ministries in San Jose has a women's shelter. Blossom Birth in Palo Alto also told me that they support a shelter. I'd give both agencies a call before dropping stuff off.
Though this doesn't get the number of toys out of your house but instead creates change, have you thought of doing a toy swap with your friends? Kind of like a clothing swap but you gather the toys and all bring them to one place. If you bring 5 toys, you can take 5 different toys - or something like that.

Would a daycare center take them?

I remember seeing the YMCA Childwatch is looking for toys, especially toys for girls.

Some people just put out toys in front of their house with the sign "FREE" - we have picked up a few nice ones that way. Very low effort, but might not go to those in real real need. I was looking for donation programs (like women's abuse shelters) but they generally require new products for babies and not so many toys. You could save up for Toys for Tots collections around Xmastime?
